Mission & objectives
Albanian Social Services Association (ASSA-Zeitgeist) was established in 2001 as an independent and non-profit organization with the aim to assist and help individuals, groups and institutions on their road towards social development, empowerment and civil integration.
Objectives
- Conducting social surveys, research studies and evaluations to give to the public a clear overview of the current situation in the following field: education, socio-political, health and economy.
- Contributing in formulating, designing and implementing education, socio-emotional programs for vulnerable groups (children, youth and women)
- Community empowerment and direct intervention and service provision in three levels of society: individual, groups (women, youth, marginalized groups, minorities etc), and communities.
- Development of training materials, guidance documents, awareness materials in psychosocial and education field; conducting capacity building.
- Assistance for local governments about community development; psycho-educational issues; Serving as a bridge structure between individuals & communities with local governments, aiming: the orientation of policies and strategies development based on the community needs
- Campaign awareness about sensitive social and human rights’ issues;
Geographic coverage:
ASSA is based in Tirana, conducts its activities and provides services in the entire territory of the Republic of Albania with individual and NGOs partners and collaborators particularly in of Korca, Fier, Berat, Vlora, Saranda, Durresi, Shkodra, Kukesi etc. ASSA also aims to extend its activities in territories outside the boarder where Albanian lives such as Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro, in the near future.
